The Baton
One ball, one ground, one clock. Whoever visits a ground nearby passes it on.
No baton is in play right now.
The baton is a game we all play together: it sits at one ground, and whoever gets there in time carries it onward. It starts once enough hoppers are logging visits every week — a relay that nobody can reach dies in public, and that is worse than no game at all.
- 1
The baton sits at a ground
One ground holds it, with a radius and a deadline.
- 2
You log a visit nearby
Attend a match at a ground inside the radius, before the clock runs out.
- 3
The baton moves to you
The first valid visit wins the leg, everyone gets a ping, and the clock resets.
Keep logging your visits — every ground you add makes the first relay more likely.
